Coatings for roofs, cellars, foundations and floors, plus airtight membranes

Coatings form a continuous protective layer on roofs, cellar walls, foundations and floors, while airtight membranes close the joints around windows and facades. Contractors, roofers and maintenance teams apply them where water, damp or wear attack a structure.

The substrate and the location decide the choice. Flat roofs take roof waterproofing in grey or black, cellars and foundations take bitumen coatings such as Soudabitum TX and LQ, and a spot that must be watertight at once takes a polymer sealing paste from Rectavit. Floors call for a two-component self-levelling screed such as Soudafloor SL2 or a 2K surface coating from Loctite. Soudatight SP (air- and vapour-tight) and Soudatight Hybrid (air- and impact-proof) membranes are chosen by what the joint has to keep out. Add to that a soundproofing coating from Teroson, an anti-rust coating and the Rust-Oleum Graffitishield Polycoat against graffiti.

Work out the quantity per square metre and per coat: packs run from 750 ml to 40 kg buckets. Rust-Oleum, Soudal, Loctite, Teroson, HG and more are represented. To protect metal rather than a building, turn to corrosion protection: inhibitors, waxes and oils, also part of other surface treatment.
