Grease for bearings, valves and moving assemblies

Grease keeps bearings, bushings, hinges and threaded assemblies running where a thin oil film would drain away or wash out. Selection starts with the base fluid and the thickener: lithium and lithium complex greases cover most general maintenance, calcium and aluminium formulations resist water washout, and silicone or PFPE grades handle valve seats, plastics and elastomers that mineral products attack.

Check the operating temperature window, the NLGI consistency class and any food contact or oxygen service approval before you commit to a pack size. Packaging matters as much as chemistry. A 100g tube suits a service van, cartridges load straight into a grease gun, and aerosol grades reach chain drives and open gears without dismantling a guard. Where the lubrication point runs hot, fast or fully flooded, an oil is usually the better answer, and a multi purpose lubricant covers light duty penetration and corrosion protection between planned service intervals.

Match the grease to load, speed and seal material and relubrication intervals stretch a long way.
