Wall chasers for pipework and cabling
A wall chaser cuts clean, parallel channels into walls and floors for pipework and cabling in a single pass. With two diamond discs side by side you cut the edges of the channel to the right width and depth, after which you knock out the material in between. That makes the machine indispensable for electricians, plumbers and renovation work in brick, concrete and aerated concrete.
Disc diameters from around 125 mm to 150 mm set the maximum cutting depth, while motor outputs climb to roughly 2500 W for the heaviest work. Good dust extraction is essential, because chasing releases a lot of fine dust. When choosing, watch the adjustable cutting width and depth, the extraction connection and the weight for overhead work.
Brands such as Spit, Metabo, Makita, Milwaukee and HiKOKI offer wall chasers for occasional and intensive use. Choose based on the materials you work and the channel sizes you need, so you reach a neat result quickly and with little dust.
