Soudatight SP is the sprayable version of Soudatight LQ, only the glass fibres are logically omitted. This product can be very easily and quickly sprayed to form a liquid, air- and vapour-tight membrane on larger surfaces and on the connections between these surfaces (floor-wall, wall-ceiling, etc.). Forms a seamless elastic membrane after drying, which is an ideal base for painting or plastering. Best used in combination with Soudatight LQ for optimum results. Soudatight SP is applied using airless spray equipment.
Properties:
Air- and vapour-tight
Very good adhesion to many porous materials
Good adhesion on slightly damp substrates
Permanently elastic after curing and very durable
Can be painted over and plastered after drying
Complies with GEV-EMICODE EC-1 PLUS: very low emission
Applications:
For air- and vapour-tight finishing of window connections, wall-floor connections, wall-ceiling connections and surfaces (no roof applications).
Instructions for use:
Make sure that Soudatight SP is at room temperature before use. Shake or stir well before use. Soudatight SP is applied to the substrate using airless or air-assisted spraying equipment directly from the packaging. The choice of spraying equipment, pressure, gun and spray tip depends on the application. Contact Soudal for further tailor-made information. Apply the air sealing paste undiluted and evenly in several layers (at least 2) to the substrate to a layer thickness of minimum 1 mm and maximum 3 mm. For best coverage, apply the product at a different angle the second time. It is recommended to apply the 2nd coat only after skin formation occurs with the first coat. The application thickness should be measured (wet) using a thickness gauge. For window applications ensure that the airtightness paste forms a seamless membrane of at least 3 mm on the window frame, over the flexible foam up to ± 5 cm on the day side of the building shell. The use of masking tape (on the window frame) is recommended. However, this should be removed shortly after application of Soudatight SP, before curing. For wall connections, ensure that the airtightness paste forms a seamless membrane of ± 15 cm on both surfaces. Before curing, Soudatight SP can be removed from materials and tools with water.
