The main standards are: British Standard (BS): This standard applies to chains made for the British market and for markets where British presence has had a major influence on technical design and buying behaviour. This standard is based on Renold's original conveyor chain design. ISO Standard chains: Chains made to the ISO Standard are not interchangeable with chains made to the BS or DIN Standard. This standard is widely used in the European market, except in Germany. Chains made according to this standard are becoming increasingly popular and are widely used in Scandinavia. Renold has a lot of experience in producing conveyor chains. Renold's conveyor chains are based on many years of design and development, allowing us to deliver the optimal product. To ensure that this quality is reflected in the performance of our products, we carry out strict checks on: Materials Heat treatment Processes Fittings Attachment assembly Lubrication Conveyor Chain Exploded View Ultimate Renold reliability: The key to the reliability of Renold chains is consistency in design and manufacturing. The chains' maximum strength and wear resistance are achieved by strictly controlling material specification and using state-of-the-art heat treatment processes. The consistent overall tolerability of Renold chains makes them ideal for conveyor systems that require precise alignment of different chain mechanisms. The breaking load is greater than the internationally required minimum. For optimum performance, it is important to choose the right chain. Renold's experienced design team is always at your disposal for free advice on specific products and applications. Standard and Deep Link conveyor chains are available for BS4116 part 4 and for ISO 1977, with both hollow and solid pins. Extra strong standard conveyor chain: Complementing our standard range of conveyor chains to British Standard, we offer this extra strong chain suitable for conveyor applications requiring ultimate tensile strength (breaking load). Each chain has the same dimensions as its normal counterpart. For example, an extra strong chain of 11,000 kilos (24000 lbs) has the same dimensions as a normal chain of 5500 kilos (12000 lbs). This chain is frequently used to transport animal feed and unpackaged foodstuffs such as grain, corn, wheat and raw food mixtures. Most of these applications use scraper conveyor systems with large spacing between sprockets. Such systems sometimes move slowly, with little or no shock loading.
