Protractor
Analogue protractors and universal goniometers measure and transfer angles on workpieces, in metalworking, construction, assembly and quality control. They work fully mechanically, without battery or display, and so stay reliable in the workshop.
Choose by the accuracy you need. A simple goniometer is enough to read or transfer an angle quickly. A large goniometer reaches further on bigger workpieces. A universal goniometer with a 150 or 300 mm ruler has a vernier with a reading to 5 minutes, and suits precision work at the bench and in the measuring room. A precision angle meter is used to check angles on machines and set-ups accurately.
Mind the length of the ruler or blade: a longer blade fixes the angle over a greater distance, a short blade works better in tight spaces. The brands are Facom and Mitutoyo. These protractors are part of the analogue measuring instruments. To measure the depth of a bore or groove, the analogue depth gauges are the logical companion.
