Replacement O-ring sets for HMV E-series hydraulic nuts
These seal kits are replacement O-ring sets for SKF hydraulic nuts in the HMV E series. Fitters and maintenance technicians use a hydraulic nut to drive large rolling bearings onto a tapered shaft or sleeve, or to remove them; the O-rings seal the oil chamber between piston and nut body.
O-rings wear with use, get damaged during dismounting or age as the rubber hardens. If a hydraulic nut leaks oil past the piston or no longer builds pressure, a new O-ring set is usually the first step of the overhaul, before the tool goes back under pressure.
Within assembly and disassembly, part of the accessories and spare parts for powered tools, each set belongs to one nut size. The number of the set, such as HMV 100 or HMV 160, matches the marking on the nut itself, for example HMV 100E. Read that marking on the nut you are overhauling and choose the set with the same number. Keeping a spare set to hand stops a bearing change from stalling.
