Digital measuring rulers for machine tools and benches
A digital ruler is a linear scale you bolt to a machine so the operator reads travel straight off a display instead of counting handwheel turns. Fitted to a mill table, a drill press column or a bench jig, it removes cumulative error from repeated moves and makes a repeat job as accurate as the first one. Choose the orientation first. Vertical scales track quill or head movement, horizontal ones track table and cross-slide travel, and recessed bodies let the scale sit flush where a projecting rail would be knocked.
Measuring length is the next decision, and the range spans short scales for fine bench work up to a full metre for larger beds. In a wet environment the sealing rating decides service life, since coolant and swarf destroy an unprotected scale quickly. Check the resolution, the zero and preset functions and whether the display can be read from the operating position. For handheld checks away from the machine a caliper is the faster tool, and the wider digital measuring instruments range covers gauges and indicators.
