Pipe brackets for wall, ceiling and rail mounting

A pipe clamp holds pipes and tubes in place against a wall, a ceiling or a supporting rail. Sizing runs on the outside diameter of the pipe, not on the nominal bore, so measure the pipe before you pick a clamping range. That range steps in narrow increments, so the bracket encloses the pipe without pinching it and without play.

The connection is M8 or M10 on almost every version. That couples the bracket to threaded rod, to a mounting rail or straight to a plug in the substrate, which turns building a pipe run into a matter of standard parts.

Then look at the closure. Hinged versions open out and go around a pipe that is already fitted, which on a refurbishment is the difference between working on and stripping back. Quick-release versions click shut and cut fitting time on long runs.

Keep the spacing that suits the pipe material, since plastic sags between supports and needs more of them than steel or copper. On hot water lines, leave room for expansion as well.
