Mounted point

Mounted points are small grinding stones on a shank for a straight grinder or multitool, used to deburr, dress weld seams, finish castings and grind shapes in metal and other hard materials. They reach places where a grinding disc does not fit.

Choose the shank diameter first: 6 mm for straight grinders, 3 mm and smaller for multitools. Then look at the shape. A cylindrical shape works on faces and edges, a cone or spear shape in corners and bores, a flame or wheel shape in profiles. The abrasive, aluminium oxide or silicon carbide, is chosen by the workpiece material and how fine the finish has to be.

Poliflex grinding pins come with different bonds, such as PUR soft, GR hard and TX, and in grits from 46 to 150. There are also 4 mm stones for sharpening a chainsaw. Brands include Pferd, Norton, Dremel, HiKOKI, Tyrolit, Metabo, Bahco and more. For polishing after grinding, the sanding paper, sanding discs and diamond wheels range holds the finer abrasives.
