Joint sealants for movement and connection joints

Joint sealant closes the movement and connection joints that a rigid filler would crack open: skirting and frame perimeters, wall-to-ceiling lines, panel joints and expansion gaps in concrete. The job of the bead is to stay bonded to both flanks while the joint opens and closes with temperature and load.

Chemistry follows the exposure. Acrylic grades are paintable and suit interior joints with limited movement, which makes them the default for finishing work before decoration. Where a joint moves more, sits outdoors or takes traffic, a higher movement capability grade belongs there instead. Fire-resistant grades are made for penetrations and compartment lines, and they only perform if installed exactly as their approval states.

Cartridges of 310 ml cover most interior work, while 600 ml sausages cut waste and reloading time on long runs. Depth control decides durability more than the product choice does, so fit a backing rod, keep the width to depth ratio sensible and tool the bead in one pass. Part of the adhesives and sealants range, alongside silicone for sanitary and glazing joints.
