The choice depends on the torque range (Nm). For precision engineering work or bicycles, a torque range of up to 25 Nm is often sufficient. For automotive work (such as wheel nuts), a torque range of 40 to 200 Nm (such as the well-known DREMASTER®) is standard. Do you work in heavy industry? Yes, this is essential for most models. If you leave the spring under tension, it may eventually lose its tension, resulting in a loss of accuracy. By turning the key back to the lowest setting on the scale after you’ve finished the job, the mechanism will remain reliable for much longer.

The secret lies in the profile. Gedore sockets often use the Unit-Drive profile. This ensures that the force is applied not to the tips of the bolt, but to the flanks. This means you can still unscrew even slightly damaged nuts without losing grip.

Although Gedore steel is highly resistant to corrosion, it is a good idea to clean your tools with a dry cloth after use. A light coat of oil on the hinge points of pliers or on the teeth of your ratchet keeps them moving smoothly and prevents surface rust after years of use.
