Freezer spray for cooling and fault finding
Freezer spray chills components sharply in seconds and is a handy aid in maintenance, repair and fault finding. Electronics technicians use freezer spray to cool an overheating or glitching component on purpose and so pinpoint the cause of an intermittent fault. In mechanics, the sudden drop in temperature helps rusted or seized parts to shrink so they come loose more easily.
The strongest products reach temperatures down to around -45 or -50 degrees, which is enough for a clear, measurable cooling effect. When choosing, look at the temperature reached, the can volume and whether the product dries residue-free so no film is left on sensitive parts. A fine, targeted jet prevents you from needlessly cooling surrounding parts.
