d: Product description Investigate and observe potential mechanical problems with confidence Determining the running speed of rotating equipment can be difficult, but the Fluke 820-2 LED strobe simplifies this process by allowing you to diagnose a stationary condition without stopping the machine, or coming into contact with it. For diagnosis of parasitic oscillation, slip or unwanted distortions, the 820-2 LED strobe is the ideal tool for on-site troubleshooting, process or product research and development. Series of 7 high-intensity LED lights - 4,800 Lux/6,000 FPM/30cm LED solid-state light source with high efficiency and uniform flash characteristics allowing higher flash speeds: 30 - 300,000 FPM (flashes per minute) Digital pulse width modulation for exceptionally sharp images at high speeds Robust, durable design, uses solid-state LEDs without filaments, gas, cavities or glass (one-metre drop) Operation with high quartz accuracy - 0.02 % (+/- 1 digit) Multi-line LCD display Control of machine rotation speed without physical contact or reflective tape Forward or reverse flash timing for viewing gear teeth, cutting surfaces, repetitions or floating equipment Simple push-button operation with x2 and +2 buttons for easy adjustment Adjustable flash duration For most applications, the standard flash duration works well without adjustments. Other applications with higher rpm or larger rotating objects with high surface speeds may require an adjustable flash duration. For high-speed applications, objects may move during the short period of a single flash, causing blurred images. By reducing the flash duration, objects have less time to move and the image becomes sharper. Common applications for the 820-2 The Fluke 820-2 LED strobe is more than just a tool for measuring the rotational speed of machines without physical contact. The device is also an excellent diagnostic tool for a variety of applications Belt-driven machines - heating and air-conditioning fans, pumps Roller bearings, shafts, gear teeth and other machine parts Clutches and gears Foundations - resonance vibrations Wear or damage to cables and pipes Mixing and dosing processes In addition, the LED stroboscope can be used as a strobotachometer for measuring speed instead of a laser tachometer. To use the stroboscope, the component to be measured must be visible and have a mark that can serve as a reference point. A stroboscope tachometer is useful because you do not always have access to a machine shaft to put a piece of reflective tape on it that can be used by a laser tachometer; or you cannot make contact with the rotating shaft to use a contact tachometer. You can use a strobe to 'stop' the shaft to 30 TPM (FPM). Use 820-2 Turbines with variable speed or that change speed frequently Frequency controlled drives (VFDs) with variable speed that do not change frequently Searching belt rotation speeds and detecting slipping belts Locating machine element components: fan blades, pump vanes, compressor screws and gear teeth TPM measurement and frequency survey Slip measurement
