Cable sheaves and lead rollers for wire rope
A cable sheave guides wire rope in lifting and hoisting systems and keeps the rope running neatly in its groove under load. By spreading the force over a larger diameter, the sheave reduces wear on the rope and improves the transmission of a hoist or winch. You choose between a loose wire rope sheave, which you hang in an existing block, and a lead roller with a fixed mount that you fit straight onto a structure.
The load rating, expressed here in tonnes, is the most important factor: always choose well above the actual load with a safe margin. Watch the groove diameter in relation to your rope thickness as well, because a groove that is too narrow or too wide damages the rope. A smooth-running, well-bearinged cable sheave prevents kinking and premature rope failure.
Check the mounting and the sealing of the bearings, especially for use outdoors or in a dirty environment. This way you build a hoisting setup that stays safe and reliable, even in daily use under full load.
