Bosch GHG and UniversalHeat hot air guns, with or without case
Corded hot air guns from Bosch heat material in a targeted way and without an open flame: for stripping paint and varnish, shrinking heat-shrink tubing, bending plastic and loosening glue or stickers. They belong to the wider range of Bosch electrical power tools, alongside the drills, grinders and saws that run on mains power.
Start with the power rating. The EasyHeat and UniversalHeat models work at 1600 W and 1800 W, enough for light, varied jobs. The GHG 20 models deliver 2000 W and the GHG 23-66 reaches 2300 W, which shortens the warm-up time when you strip larger surfaces. More power does call for more control on heat-sensitive substrates such as glass or thin plastic.
Then look at how the tool is supplied. Some versions come on their own, others in a case that keeps the gun and its nozzles together, useful when the tool moves from one site to the next. There are also versions with a nozzle included, such as a 50 mm surface nozzle to spread heat over a wide strip or a 75 mm rebate nozzle for window frames and profiles.
