Sealing lids, spouts and drum clamps for the workshop

Anyone storing oil, lubricants and chemicals in the workshop needs more than the drum itself. These accessories turn loose stock into a workable system: sealing lids with a spout to pour cleanly, and drum clamps to move a full drum safely.

Choose the lid and the spout on the way you decant. A blunt spout pours fast through a wide opening, a long spout reaches a reservoir that sits deep or behind a machine, and a mini spout doses small quantities without spilling. Colour coding, yellow next to red, keeps lubricants apart and stops the wrong product ending up in a machine. Fitting a dedicated lid per product also means the drum stays closed between uses, which keeps water and workshop dust out of the oil.

With lifting equipment, look at the rated load and the jaw opening. A clamp is specified for a load in tonnes and for a jaw range in millimetres, for example 570 to 610 mm, so measure the rim of the drum before ordering rather than after. The bins, cabinets and drum racks themselves sit under storage and collecting systems.
