Tweezers for fine assembly and electronics work

Tweezers do the work fingers are too coarse for. Setting a spring in place, pulling a splinter out of a glove, positioning a component on a board or dropping a small nut into a hole you can barely see. In electronics, fine mechanics and laboratory work they are basic equipment rather than a luxury.

The choice starts with the tip. Universal tweezers have a broader, sturdy tip that grips reliably and takes force. Precision tweezers taper to a fine point and are meant for parts a few millimetres across, but that point bends the moment you use it as a lever. Versions with a stronger spring give more grip without constant squeezing, which tells over a long session.

Length decides how deep you reach and how much feel you keep, with the usual sizes running from around 110 mm to 155 mm. Where you work on or near magnetically sensitive parts, an anti-magnetic version is the right choice. Without that property, small steel particles cling to the tip and travel into the workpiece with it. More grippers and tweezers sit one level up.
