In 1925, Gottlieb Stoll and Albert Fezer founded Fezer & Stoll in the German town of Esslingen am Neckar. Over the years, ‘Fezer & Stoll’ became ‘Festo’ and later ‘Festool.’ Throughout its 100-year history, Festool has revolutionised the professional tools industry with groundbreaking inventions and a system-focused approach.

A Century of Innovation

Many tools that professionals use daily originated from the Festool design team. For instance, the first portable one-person chainsaw and the orbital sander, which Festool introduced in 1951. In the 1960s, Festool launched the first model with dust extraction. From then on, nearly all Festool machines included dust extraction, an area in which the brand still leads today.
Safe Sawing

Festool is also a leader in sawing. The invention of the plunge-cut circular saw made it possible to safely plunge the blade into various materials. Combined with the guide rail—another Festool invention—the plunge-cut saws remain some of the most innovative tools on the market. In 2020, Festool introduced the TKS 80, the first table saw in Europe equipped with electronic SawStop AIM technology, marking a significant advancement in workplace safety.
Pioneer in Dust Extraction

Festool has long prioritised safety and health protection, particularly through dust extraction. Today, Festool remains a pioneer in the field. Their industrial dust extractors are perfectly tailored to meet the demands of construction and industry professionals. They are compatible with all machines and, thanks to Bluetooth connectivity, can be easily activated with battery-powered tools.
Battery Technology
In the 1990s, Festool introduced its first cordless screw-drill. Since then, the company has significantly contributed to the development of battery technology. With its 18V system, Festool currently provides a powerful mobile power source for around 50 different tools.
Systainers

Systainers are a prime example of Festool’s mission to develop products that meet user needs. This versatile and adaptable storage and transport system has simplified life for millions of professionals. Available in 185 variants, Systainers provide mobility and protection for all tools, including dust extractors and saws.
